There could be a couple of reasons your drawings are jagged. One is resolution, the other is practice and learning to control the tools.

If the resolution is set to 72 dpi (default for new drawing pages) then the drawings will be really jagged especially if you zoom in to the drawing...try increasing the resolution to 150. This will also increase the file size.

Use the help menu to search for ';image size'; or ';resolution'; to make the change.

Learning to control the tools is sometimes difficult. In traditional art your posture places the drawing space and medium in front of you and you look directly at what you are doing. Computer drawing is a bit different as you are drawing out to the side a little bit and your eyes are facing a different direction. This requires retraining your eye hand coordination to complete tasks that you already know haw to do differently. Practice. How can make better drawings in photoshop?
Do your drawings in Illustrator. It will give you a lot more control over how the lines are interpreted and it will allow you to make changes to lines you draw more easily. I used to hate Illustrator, but now I do all my drawings in it. You can download a free trial at Adobe.com if you don't have a copy. Good luck!
