How to animate something in CS3 Photoshop?

How can I convert a photoshop document into a JPEG document?
I've searched the internet and I still haven't been able to find a successful conversion technique to changing a PSD file into a JPEG file. If anyone has any websites or techniques as to how I can convert this, please help me out.How can I convert a photoshop document into a JPEG document?
Make it simple.
First do a simple ';save'; of your Photoshop doc - in Photoshop.
Then use the ';save for web'; command, select JPG, so you can export without squashing your original file - saving your layers. You also get a live preview which is useful for seeing how your compression setting is effecting the quality of the image.
You may want to consider PNG instead since it's web browser friendly AND it maintains transparency effects when importing into Power Point - unlike jpg.

Also after doing the above mentioned of saving your file using the save as option and changing the file format to JPEG you do want to be aware of flattening your image. that looks like a video card driver glitch, try getting the latest updated driver for your display adapter, and on photoshop go to Edit%26gt;Preferences%26gt; Performance on the GPU settings box try unticking or ticking the enable OpenGL drawing, restart photoshop and see if that helps, also try getting the OpenGL thing and install it properly. hope this helps.How do i fix the weird lines that appear when i open photoshop cs4?

I dont think your missing out, it depends on what kind of drawing and what kind of style you are into.
Corel emulates real paint and real paper and real brushes, so if your trying to make something look like it was painted traditionally that is probably your best bet.
Illustrator is vector based and is best for quality line and fill work that can be easily scaled to any size. They have the gradient mesh tool, which does amazing things, but it takes lots of practice.if your looking for great clean lines and not so many detailed shadows and gradients go with illustrator

Well, uh...you can us MS Paint, but it'll be a little hard.
Select the ';free form select'; tool (kinda looks like a deformed star with a dashed outline). Outline the object you want to keep. Once you're done, right click and copy it. Paste it onto the background picture you want it on. There might be an easier way to do it, but I'm not sure.figure

If I want to send in a poster I created with Photoshop to get printed, wut resolution should it be set at?
I make flyers (4x6) and posters (11x17) for a band I work with and I was just curious before I send them out what resolution should they be at and what type of file works best? I have been putting them at 300 dpi and sending them as jpegs. Resolution should be as high as you and the printer can reasonably accommodate. A higher resolution graphic is a larger file, and that my set some limit. Your printer's shop will have a maximum too, so check on that. Three hundred dots per inch is pretty much MINIMUM.

You have to use layers and layer masks, this will help. Say you have a photo of yourself, and you want to put a new background in. The photo of you is in a city, but you want to put in a background that is a jungle. You can open both images (I am going to assume for simplicity that the images are the same size and resolution, I'm just giving you the basics for right now). Before you do anything else, do a Save As for both images and select Photoshop (.psd) as the file type. You want to do this because most likely your images are .jpg images and they will not support layers.
You can click on the jungle image with the Move tool (looks sort of like an arrowhead with a funny plus sign), then hold down the mouse button and drag that image over to the photo of you. It will come in on top of the image of you, but it will be on ITS OWN LAYER. (Note if you can't drag, try doing a ctrl +A if on the PC or command + A on a Mac. You will see the ';marching ants'; outline around the image. Now you can do a Copy + Paste onto the photo of you.)
Layers: one of the most useful things in Photoshop. Make sure your Layer palette is open (by default it should be, if not make sure it's not hiding on the side鈥攍ook for a tab that says Layers, or go to the Window menu and click on Layers. If there's already a check mark there, it means the palette is open, and probably hiding behind another palette). You will see two thumbnails now. One of them will be for the image of you and the other is the jungle background. If the thumbnail image of you is labeled ';background'; double click on it to unlock it. You will get a little dialog that says ';Layer 0';. You can click okay, or name that layer whatever you want. Now, back in the Layers palette, click on the other layer, which is the jungle. DRAG that down, below the layer thumbnail that's you. If you watch what is happening in your image window, when you brought the jungle background into the image it covered up the photo of you. Now you will see the image of you, and the jungle is hidden.
From this point, you have several ways of doing things. You can just erase the parts of the photo of you that shows the city, which will reveal the jungle underneath. But this can be a problem. A better way is to use a layer mask. Make sure you have selected (clicked on) the layer thumbnail of you. It will be highlighted. At the bottom of the Layers palette you will see an icon that looks like square page with a folded corner. Click on that. You will see another white thumbnail appear next to the thumbnail of you. Now, go to your Tools palette. You will see at the bottom two squares. They should be set to black and white. If not, click the smaller squares underneath to reset them. Black should be in the front, white behind. Now, click on the Brush tool, select a soft edged brush. Next, click on that white thumbnail, it's the Layer Mask thumbnail; you are selecting the Layer Mask rather than the layer itself. What you are going to do is paint on the mask. This is going to HIDE parts of your photo to reveal the jungle underneath. So start painting with the brush, and you will gradually see the jungle show through. If you paint too much (say you mask out part of yourself), just hit the X key to change from black to white on your brush, paint out the mask where you don't want it. Hit the X key again to go back to black.
The reason you want to do it this way is you are not changing the photo of you, you are just hiding or showing parts of it by using the mask. This is called non-destructive editing, because you aren't changing the image itself.
There's more to it than this; you may have to do things to fix lighting problems (for example, you might be photographed in the city, and there are some shadows on you from buildings or whatever. When you change the background to the jungle, the light is different and the shadows look wrong). But I wanted to just get you started with how you can change the background or add a background to an image.

I use photo shop and sometimes corel draw to design graphics. I was thinking of buying a ';Bamboo Pen Tablet'; by Wacom. I would like to know from other people who do similar work with the same software

There should be no reason that the scan is not proportional to the original. Duplicate the Background layer. Then focused on that layer, use the Transformation Tool to resize only that layer. Tip, reduce the opacity so you can see the Background layer below. When finished, erase the parts outside of the part you wanted resized.

Remember whatever art you do, save out at 72dpi for web graphics to get close to the 1:1 for what your artwork size was in Photoshop to look the same on the web page. Make something at 600 dpi and the browser will take a long time to download it. Open 600 dpi in a photo viewer program and the picture will have to be scrolled in both axis to see a ';knothole'; view.

you can mess with the setting until you get what you want.

You didn't say what kind of comic book. If its a drawing thats already comic, than you are a good way there. There's a great site related to Anime in Photoshop which instructs how to create opacity layers using your magic wand and using gradient fills. Extra step -- use a subtle watercolor filter also.
A standard picture could be tricky, but I guess I would start by making it grayscale and using extreme contrast. Then I would switch back to RGB and start dinking with those layers and effects. Good luck.
What are the main characteristics of comic book art? of course there are exceptions but they are basically:
- Forms are defined by lines drawned with ink using a pen or brush.
- Highly-saturated flat colors
- Simplified backgrounds
- Simplified color shading or non at all if the ink work is good.
You can use layers and masks on photoshop and even some of the artistic filters to flatten the colors. For the ink work... nothing in the basic package can do that. There is probably a third party plug-in for $ale, otherwise you will have to put your drawing abilities to use.

If you download an action file (.atn) you can save it wherever you want (i suggest some folder where you collect your actions).
The easiest way to add them to the actions panel (Window-%26gt;Actions) in Photoshop simply double-click the file and it will add itself (you will get no confirmation or dialog box, but it will show up in the list).
