You can't do it that way - Photoshop saves all the channels. Even if it let you save it the way it is now, when you opened it the next time, all the channels would be there.
But never fear ;-) There is a way to achieve the effect you are after...
Instead of mixing channels in the channels palette, select the image layer and go to Layer Style --%26gt; Blending Options and use the Advanced Blending to knock out the channels.
Basically, it turns the channels you don't want to see black. Actually, you can probably do that yourself.
You can save it as a jpeg and it will stay looking the way you want!
